Analysis of Game Creativity Development by Means of Continuously Learning Neural Networks

2006

Experts in ball games are characterized by extraordinary creative behavior. This article outlines a framework of analyzing creative performance based on neural networks. The aim of this study is to compare the potential of different kinds of training programs with the learning of game creativity in real field contexts. The training groups (soccer group, n=20; field hockey group, n=17) showed significant improvement in comparison to the control group (n=18) with respect to the three measuring points, although no difference could be established between the groups. As regards the development of performance, five types of learning behavior can be distinguished, the most striking ones being what…

A note on risk aversion and learning behavior

1995

Abstract This paper analyzes the learning behavior of a risk-averse agent. We find two conflicting effects in the experimental behavior: a stronger preference for the ex post reduction in uncertainty, but ex ante the returns to information are more uncertain.

The Impact of Inattention, Hyperactivity/Impulsivity Symptoms, and Executive Functions on Learning Behaviors of Children with ADHD

2017

Children diagnosed with attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) are at risk of experiencing lower academic achievement compared to their peers without ADHD. However, we have a limited understanding of the mechanisms underlying this association. Both the symptoms of the disorder and the executive functions can negatively influence learning behaviors, including motivation, attitude toward learning, or persistence, key aspects of the learning process. The first objective of this study was to compare different components of learning behaviors in children diagnosed with ADHD and typically developing (TD) children. The second objective was to analyze the relationships among learning behav…

Duopoly experimentation: Cournot competition

1999

Abstract This paper analyzes learning behavior in an industry facing uncertainty. We consider a duopoly game where firms have imperfect information about market demand and they learn through observing market prices. The main body of our study consists of showing how firms make the price a more informative signal through their experimental behavior, and how this behavior compares to its monopoly counterpart. We extend previous analysis to the case where the demand unknown parameter takes values on the real line. We also find that experimentation under Cournot duopoly is smaller than under monopoly whenever the demand's unknown parameter is sufficiently precise.
